The Puppy Foundation Course is a six weeks course held on Monday evenings. The course is limited to six puppies at any one time so that owners and dogs get our full attention. Dogs are eligible to attend our course from 8 weeks of age up to 12 months on the day of assessment. Below is a list of exercises you and your puppy will undertake to gain the puppy assessment at the end of the course.
Exercise 1 - Responsibility and Care
Exercise 2 - Cleanliness and Identification
Exercise 3 - Attentive Response to Name
Exercise 4 - Play With The Puppy
Exercise 5 - Socialisation
a) with a placid dog unknown to the puppy;
b) With an adult person unknown to the puppy and;
c) With Noise Distraction
Exercise 6 - Handling and Inspection to Maintain Helath
Exercise 7 - Puppy Recall
Exercise 8 - Basic Puppy Positions
Exercise 9 - Walking in a Controlled Manner
Exercise 10 - Stay for Approximately Ten Seconds
Exercise 11 - Take Article Away from the Puppy
Exercise 12 - Food Manners

Assessments are run throughout the course by the trainer and when all criteria is passed the handler receives a KC Puppy Certificate and Rosette.
