The Silver Award is run during our Monday and Wednesday classes. The aim of this Award is to build upon the skills learnt in the Bronze Award, whilst increasing the level of difficulty. It also introduces new concepts important to everyday life situations i.e. controlled greeting, road walk and vehicle control. The Silver Award provies handlers with a good knowledge of understaning and training of their canine companion.
Assessments for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme take place twice a year. Below is a list of exercises you and your dog will undertake to gain the Silver Award.

Exercise 3 - Rejoin Handler
Exercise 4 - Stay in One Place for Two Minutes
Exercise 5 - Vehicle Control

Canine Code
For those passing all parts of the test will receive a Good Citizen Dog Scheme Silver Certificate, and a Silver Award Rosette. The handler also receives a Silver Award pin badge and the dog a Silver Award collar tag.
To bridge the gap between the KC Bronze and the Silver Award, BMC Academy run their own scheme - The Pre-Silver Award. This prepares the handler and dog from Bronze to the Silver Award standard. It will be accessed internally and those passing all the test will receive a BMC Academy Certificate and Rosette.
